![]() About Komen Montana
The Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation was founded in 1982 by Nancy Brinker in memory of her sister, Susan G. Komen, who died of breast cancer at the age of 36. The mission of the Foundation is to eradicate breast cancer as a life-threatening disease by advancing research, education, screening and treatment. The Komen Montana Race for the Cure raises funds to provide positive awareness, education and early detection of breast cancer for women throughout Montana, as well as helps to fund the National Grants program for the Komen Foundation. The Foundation is the nation's largest private funder of research dedicated solely to breast cancer. 2008 Komen Montana
